Privacy Policy

Data we collect

• Account identifiers — your email address and an internal user ID
• Profile preferences you set — display name, assistant voice, language, and onboarding answers
• Voice recordings you start, and the transcript produced from them (this is the core of the product)
• Thoughts, threads, and entities derived from your transcripts — the people, places, plans, and topics Memnora extracts so it can answer questions later
• Questions you ask Memnora and the answers it returns
• Google account basics (name, email, Google user ID) if you sign in with Google
• Subscription status, if you purchase a paid plan through Apple or Google
• Basic technical logs needed to keep the service reliable and secure

How we use your data

• Transcribe what you say and store your words as a durable memory
• Extract atomic thoughts from a transcript and link them into the right threads
• Generate embeddings so you can search by meaning, not just keywords
• Answer your questions about your own memory, with citations back to your own words
• Bias transcription toward names you use often, so people and places are spelled correctly
• Authenticate you, process subscriptions, and respond to support requests
• Diagnose errors and keep the service running

Your words are immutable

Memnora never edits or overwrites a raw transcript. If transcription got something wrong, a correction is stored as a new record alongside the original — the original stays intact. This is a deliberate design choice: models improve, but your actual words are the one thing that cannot be regenerated. The only thing that deletes a transcript is you deleting your account or that record.

We do not train models on your memories

Your transcripts, thoughts, and threads are not used to train, fine-tune, or improve any foundational or generalized AI model, ours or anyone else's. Your content is sent to AI providers only to fulfil a request you made — transcribing what you just said, extracting thoughts from it, or answering a question you asked.

Google sign-in

Signing in with Google is optional. When you use it, we receive your name, email address, and Google account ID solely to create and identify your Memnora account. Memnora's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data and do not use it to train AI models.

How we protect your data

• All network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS
• Passwords are hashed; session tokens are short-lived and rotated on refresh
• Every record is scoped to your authenticated account, enforced both in our API and by row-level security in the database
• Provider API keys live only on our servers. The app never holds a key that could read anyone's data

Third parties we rely on

• xAI — speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and reasoning during a session
• OpenAI — text embeddings only, so your memory is searchable by meaning
• Supabase (Postgres) — database hosting
• Resend — verification and password-reset email
• Google — optional Google sign-in
• Expo — app delivery and over-the-air updates
• Apple and Google — payments, if you subscribe

Microphone

Memnora uses the microphone only during a capture you start yourself. There is no wake word and no background listening. Recording stops when the session ends, and the app makes the live state visible on screen so you always know whether the mic is on.

Retention and deletion

Your memories are kept for as long as your account exists — that is the point of the product. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, which permanently removes your captures, transcripts, thoughts, threads, entities, and profile. If you cannot open the app, use thedelete-account request form.

Children

Memnora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date above changes whenever we revise it.
